Our Facility
Welcome to Gateway Animal Care Center, the only CDC-approved Animal Care Facility for the Philadelphia (PHL) Port of Entry. The comfort, care and safety of your pet is always our first priority.
At Gateway Animal Care Center, dogs can relax in our clean, climate-controlled facility while awaiting veterinary services and/or entry clearance into the US. Our spacious individual kennels are approximate 4 feet wide by 6 feet deep, with raised floors and an additional rubber mat. Each kennel is also equipped with a raised bed, and comfortable bedding. Our canine guests have plenty of space to move around and rest in. We also have isolation kennels available, if required.
Dogs are turned out individually four times a day in one of our fenced-in outdoor yards. In the event of inclement weather, we also have three interior turnout areas. Meals are served twice a day, at 8:30am and 4pm, and fresh water is always available. Experienced and caring kennel staff are on-site daily from 6am-10pm, with the exception of a few intervals of ‘quiet time,’ when staff leaves, the lights go off, and the dogs are left to rest and relax in peace.
We have a kennel caretaker on the premises 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and our building is fully equipped with a smoke and fire detection system as well as interior and exterior surveillance cameras. Our campus is fully fenced, and is securely gated during non-business hours.
USDA certified veterinarians are on-site Monday through Friday to thoroughly and expeditiously examine and vaccinate your pets. They are also available to diagnose and treat any other medical issues that may arise.
